well ideally in a democracy the voters would punish bad faith actors in our political system through political pressure and finally through voting for a primary challenger or an opposing party challenger. But that doesn’t seem to happen because of tribalism
As the politics becomes more fenatic and polarized the senate becomes more disfunctional they don’t put the national interests first they out their own and party interests first…… government is broken and the people need to demand changes
Democrats have some pretty radical ideas. That's why they want rid of the filibuster so they can change america into a place that is more of a socialist country. But people like me don't agree with this.
Long story short: the government and the country as a whole is FUKT. Unless you're rich and white, things will never go your way. Armed rebellion seems to be the only way to effect change
It is a weird rule. But it was designed to keep one party from passing extremely partisan legislation just because they had majority. But given how virtually anything is now considered very partisan, it is used routinely.
They could heavily publicise the filibusters to the public so that parties literally start losing people's support if they stop the congress from functioning properly.

That last part really hit home. If the minority party can prevent the will of the electorate then why bother to vote. End the filibuster rule.
