Unsure what state of 5G will be, I'll follow up this Summer. Back to Normal Bat News though, done covering this topic for awhile.
Sound like they want people to stop buying comics so they can focus on only making films. They'd rather invest in films instead of paying a bunch of artists and writers for printing books. However I feel like they will not close down and they'll probably switch to full digital or something on the long run.

As far as I'm concerned, DC Comics ended when they first came up with their new 52 and showed little regard for the past. No one there cares anything about continuity anymore and haven't for longer than I want to admit.

If DC comics (as well as Marvel comics) ends, all the creative artists will flock to Image and other smaller comic companies or create a new "Image"-esque company and create a bunch of new characters (which, sadly, will probably be similar to DC (and Marvel) characters because, really, how many new powers can one think of?).
I’m giving Jim Lee a chance, who knows, forced into it perhaps his 90s roots will take hold and some sanity will begin to rain again. Three months, that’s my timeline, if I don’t see some more positive moves, then I’m out.
If DC did nothing but reprints and if marvel followed suit i'd be fine with it. There isn't a comic that i have enjoyed in probably 15 yrs. Before all the woke garbage the "decompressed" storytelling, writing for the trade, endless events, it all stinks and it killed comics for me personally. If everything was reprints At least i could pick up decently written and drawn books with classic heroes and no agenda.
If they are going to pander to lefty lunatics who don't actually buy comics, they deserve to go extinct. Good bye comic book industry, it was fun while it lasted.
