There's a serious flaw in the Interdictor's field. The cone you drew shows that a ship could possibly be pulled out of Hyperspace only to ram into the Interdictor itself.

The Interdictor hijinks in Legends were always glorious, similar with the tractor beam dodging. It just shows how innovative writers were about technology present in story and they gave it new spin to open new venues. You don't have to dismiss old rules set by other sources, but expand on what was already built.

So what would happen if… Thrawn and Ackbar were on the same side, co-commanding a pair of fleets with as much communication between the two as is necessary (if not outright putting both of them on the same flagship)?

Kind of wonder if this is really a good maneuver. Seems like triggering a fail-safe to forcefully rip a ship out of hyperspace could have all sorts of negative consequences that could cause the whole thing to backfire.

I'm starting to see the pattern to Ackbar. First he learns from Tarkin, now Thrawn. He's not the best at innovating new tactics, but he's good at picking other people's stuff up and using it in new ways.

Such a creative work around to not having an interdictor! Is it just me or are the tactics used in the Galactic Civil War(mostly Legends Post-Endor) far more clever and cunning then those seen during the days of the Republic, in the Clone Wars for example. Don't get me wrong, there are neat little strategies and tactics used by the Republic and CIS that are really fascinating but nothing quite as unique as the Thrawn Pincer or the Ackbar Slash.

#askeck – I’ve had this question for a minute and I was wondering if you could give your thoughts. In Star Wars Rebels Admiral Thrawn conducts an orbital bombardment of the Rebel base, in which we see multiple ISD’s utilizing their main batteries. Now, just a single blast of these turbolaser batteries is very often quoted to have a destructive yield greater than the megaton range in Star Wars circles. And yet, in Star Wars Rebels, we see Kaanan speeding through the bombardment on a speeder bike, and the bombardment appears to be much closer in destructive yield to a conventional artillery barrage. Obviously, if turbolasers were even very conservatively carrying megaton yield effects, one shot would have put Kaanan and a 10 mile radius up in irradiated smoke. So just as a thought experiment, if we took this scene as a canonical example of turbolaser power…how would that prompt us to rethink everything about space combat in Star Wars? Just feel like this is an interesting case study.

P.S. I'd actually love if you did a whole video analyzing this!
