Forest fire is a global problem. How India is affected by forest fires. Enlist government measures in containing forest fires.
Answer
As lungs are important for human body so are the forest for mother earth, because in absence of the services provided by our forests, life on earth is hard to imagine.
With increasing global warming due to climate change, forest fires are becoming frequent phenomenon these days. Be it forest fires in Amazon, Australia or California.
Our country is also very prone to these fires as pine trees present in mountain areas catch fire easily due to Oil in the leaves.
Dry deciduous forests in central and southern areas become extremely dry after sheding their leaves.
Though evergreen forest are present in north eastern part but due to inadvertent shifting cultivation those also can be destroyed by these fires.
In order to protect about 24 percent area of our land having forest and trees government has taken many steps such as–
Forest fire prevention and management rules 2017 .
National action plan on forest fires 2018.
Aforestation projects in the country are being implemented.
Satellite data is being made available to the forest officials to make them aware of the weather situation.
Forest dweller and other tribal people are trained and educated of the measures for preventing or keeping it restrained in a particular area.
With aforementioned points it can be said that forest fires are dangerous for the well being of human beings and hence we should try our best to avoid such instances in future.

sir please clarify this point under "Impacts of Forest Fires" – A point given "Ozone layer depletion"
but actually
"Wildfires have been found to cause the formation of ozone. … Wildfires have been found to cause ozone levels to rise at ground level, which is undesirable. Wildfires, however, do not impact the ozone layer"
Kindly start discussing pib and other subjects as not everybody can afford expensive coaching it will be of great help
thank you sir
Thanks sir

GS III
Forests are Lungs of Earth , the imagination of Mother Nature in Humans mind, the preserver of biodiversity and the God of Economic social and cultural cultural Heritages.
It seems to look like a foolish way if we see it a problem of a region or country but it is our limitation to do for , in any territory. The concern is so huge that India should make & lead an Alliance to deal with forest fires under the Aegis of UN.
If we analyze it in one year continent wise – US forest fires are common in North America
South America- Amazon Forest Fires.
Asia- Forest fires in Uttarakhand, kerla
Australia- Bush Fires.
Meaning is common threat in all continents.
In a recent Report mentioned that more 2/3 rd of Indian forests are prone to forest fires .
Forest Fires are a severe threat to Environment, ecology, climate , habitat flora and fauna.
Recently taken steps by GOI are:_
1. FFPM ( forest fire prevention and management) scheme 2017
2. IFMS
3. NAPFF ( national action plan on forest fires) 2018 – which also includes incenvising for forest fire.
Govt agenda is – Inform , Enable and Empower.
For better results the following steps can be taken:-
1. States should actively empower their Forest infrastructure by adding forest area , preserve existing forests.
2. Proper funding and Training programs should be given to those near forest area , Tribals and NGOs.
3. Students curriculum should be promoted with plantation and its ethicallity.
4 . Peoper implementation of laws should be done.

– involve large and widespread fire happening/taking place in forest areas which burns away existing flora and fauna
– Poses great threat to forest wealth
– disturbs entire eco-system
-endangers biodiversity.
India affected by forest fires– ecologically, socio-economically( 2nd side heading)
– loss of valuable timber resources
-loss of livelihood for tribal people/rural poor as it is estimated that 300M directly dependent on forest upon non timber collection of forest produce for livelihood
-global warming
-Health problems leading to diseases
-Soil erosion affecting productivity of soul and production
-ozone layer depletion
-loss if carbon sinks resources and increase in percentage of CO2 in atmosphere

Q1. Discuss the possible factors that inhibit indian edu system from conducting live classes online to various learner? .
Ans today in modern world online edu concept is constantly increasing day by day. Eg smart classes in school and colleges.
During pandemic, university grant commission has give a circular to various universities to conduct online classes..
Eg mooc ( massive open online classses offered under swayam initiative.
In india, a lot of factors are there related to online education :-
1. Only 10% children have laptop and computer.
2. No infrastructure.
3 lack of electricity.
4. Teachers do not have knowledge about online edu.
5. Only one way teaching.
6. If students have doubts then, how he/ she will communicate.
7. Online edu provide only to some children.
8. No development of minds of children.
9 difficult to catch network in hilly terrain.
10. Shillong declaration in 2019 was based on internet connectivity in North eastern states. But till now it has not implemented.
11. Most children who live in border areas can't access to internet . Because of security problems. Eg gujarat, arunachal pradesh and ladakh.
12. Hacking of data by enemies.
13. Eyes problem.
14. Some students are addicted to online edu.
15. Mhrd has launched a initiative related to online edu. Named as vidyadaan.
16. Not used for practical edu. Like phy , chemistry, pharma and agriculture. Which is really based only in labs.
Measures :-
Online edu should be used in ltd way. Recently, karnataka govt has also prohibited online edu for classes 1 to5 . Reason – bad effect on on children mind.
But it can't be a substitute of physical edu. Eg debandre nath tagore father of rabindra nath tagore had also started school in shantiniketan. Which was truly based on physical learning.

Q:) 'Forest fire' is a global problem. How India affected by forest fire? Enlist Government measures in contacting forest fires.
A:) form Amazon to Australian forests, fires are the major cause for loss of vegetation, economic Disaster and shrinking of carbon sinks. It mostly happens in tropical regions because of high humidity and sun light. So Indian forests are not exception of it.
According to forest inventory records of 2018, approx 54% of forests in India are exposed to occasional fires, approx 7% to moderately frequent fires and 2.405 to high incidence levels while approx 35% of India’s forests have not yet been exposed to fires of any real significance.
Despite knowing that India's forest area is not more than 25% of total land while international peramiters needs approx 33%, our forest fire alarm systems are not well managed.
Because of it, 'joom cultivation' , man made and natural fires continuously finishing the forest cover of india.
For tackle this situation systematically indian government made 'Nation action plan on forest fires' and 'Forest fire prevention and management scheme'. But, we need communities Participation and specially women participation also for more better results on grass root lavel.
Despite having sometimes benefits forest fires are most Catastrophic in nature for wild Flora and fona. We can learn it from Australian bushfire and prevent it's spreading too in India's forests by awareness and modern technology like cloud seeding, helicopter rain etc.

GS III- Forest fire measures taken by India Government
First and foremost the uncontrolled forest fire occurring in the wildlife affects the flora and biodiversity of the natural habitat. Burning of the ground vegetation will be the most dangerous situation we accounted with.
The government of India has come up with various programs, action plans, and schemes to minimize the impact of forest fire and any such situation happening in the future. such as,
1. National Action plan on Forest fire (NAPFF) IN 2018.
This helps to minimize forest fires by,
a) informing, enabling, and empowering forest fringe communities and motivate them to work in tandem with the State Forest Departments.
b). This action plan helps the forest guards or the rescue team to have better equipped and enhance their machinery to fight such natural disasters by improving their capabilities.
c) most vulnerable areas are studied and measures will be taken to reduce the risk and more destruction caused by the fire.
2. forest fire prevention and management scheme (FFPM)
a). Works alongside the state disaster management team and assists them to deal with forest fires.
b). The fund allocation from the national afforestation program and Mission for green India is done carefully where it's needed and helps state government to have the flexibility to handle it.
These measures help once the forest fire is begun and disaster management will be taken care of well. But before it happens, there should be certain measures taken by
1. Generating awareness in the very primary level
2. empowering Communities to deliver on their responsibilities towards nature.
3. communities should be given the training to prevent and control such forest fire.
