To all incompetent asshats who wish to sow disunity, hatred, and chaos in this nation, I have this to say: if you do not wish to unite, to leave the hatred of the past behind you, learn to forgive and forget, and live in harmony with your fellow Americans, you can leave. It’s time to let go of past hatreds, to end the violence and the destruction, and come together like these two did, working together to build a better future. Stop trying to change a past which cannot be changed, and instead work toward building a better future.
And for those who wish to see this song replaced as the National Anthem, I have this to say: this song will always be the anthem of my country, and I won’t salute or honor any other as a symbol of my country. It tells the tale of triumph in the face of overwhelming odds, victory in the face of defeat, and brave free men of all races and creeds rising up to defend their home when it is under attack. THAT is the undying, eternal spirit of the American people.
