Italy and Taiwan’s first recorded COVID-19 cases were only 10 days apart, but Italy quickly became one of the hardest-hit countries in the world, while Taiwan …

tauwon: uno reverse card to Italy
Taiwan was on point
Congratulations to the new Taiwan government.
Happy economic freedom.
Out to the trash communists of the Xi jinping
When my foreign friend asked me Taiwan is a country?
I will post this joke to them.
ROC:I am China.
PRC:No,I am China.
ROC:Ok,I am Taiwan.
PRC:No,you are China.
No social distancing.
U.S came 1st place
Italy came 2nd place
Italy had been through a mass vaccination program using an experimental new 4 in 1 vaccination targeting older people more prone to inflationary illness, the same group who ultimately died from covid19. Taiwan had not.
Taiwan is not Chay-Nah
Taiwan didnt listen to WHO or trusted China
Taiwan, which is not recognized as a country, is doing better than most countries.
Also , it's an insult to italy instead of compassion in this pandemic tsunami
It has been a self-isolated island for quite a long period of time . Why ? We don't have a much more vibrant tourism industry to magnify travelers as italy always has . On the other hand , the so-called taiwan authority intentionally nearly banned Chinese traverlers for quite some time in the past few years .So , please save the bull , will you ?
Close borders, explain why and make everyone wear a mask, ignore and not wait around for the WHO to dish out confusing information = 6 deaths / dont give out any information, rely on the WHO and EU, mafia take control of all aid and force loans on to everyone = 30,000 deaths
Adding onto a number of comments. Taiwan’s response is truly something that should be applauded. Taiwan’s national response was so much better than almost all other countries worldwide. To this end, while most of the world was thrown into long, uncertain quarantines, Taiwan had a short one, then decided with their ability to control cases that quarantine was no longer needed in Taiwan months ago. Since 2003 SARS, they implemented mandatory temperature checks at airports. On top of that, when the first handful of “abnormal pneumonia cases” were reported in Wuhan, the Taiwan CDC sent people over to access and nationally they implemented over 120 measures to protect their people. This includes curbing air traffic by 88% into the country, using machine learning, requiring self-quarantine when nationals return to Taiwan and checking up with residents 3 times a day via text (going so far as to even send food, masks, and other supplies to people in self-quarantine), and a lot more.
Next, a general Eastern world practice that should be used in the western world more: regular use of surgical masks in public (prevents wearers from spreading, so with a large percentage of people wearing masks in pubic, it greatly decreases risk of transmission). Taiwan knew general public panic will create shortages, so the government took control over distribution of masks. Here they worked with national companies to produce an amazing quantity of masks daily. They also regulated the price of these masks, implemented software to ensure each national could only buy a limited number of masks a week to prevent hoarding, and created online resources so that people could check which stores had how many masks left to save people meaningless trips. TL;DR: I hope globally, people learn to deal with pandemics because honestly we were lucky. The SARS-COV-2 virus is far from the worst that can happen. Taiwan did beautifully and allowed care for their people through science, not politics, guide their actions.
In addition to Italy, they should've cancalled the UCL game Atalanta vs Atletico Madrid with full-house in Bergamo! In my opinion it was a crime to hold this game like that, not to mention the carneval in Venice afterwards!! The same goes to the UK for the Liverpool game at Anfield. They must have lost their minds!!!
Simple Taiwan is not a member. Of WHO. While the rest of the nation is a member ofWHO . . Do I need to add more
Taiwanese are here. The Taiwanese government does not use the GPS function on mobile phones to ensure that quarantines leave the quarantine area. When the phone is in a building, GPS does not work. Taiwan uses the mechanism that mobile phones would communicate with wireless base stations regularly, and cooperates with multiple base stations to complete mobile phone positioning. This is called a digital fence. The quarantine was also informed about the location mechanism of the phone. In addition, community staff members care about the status of the quarantine by phone every day from time to time and provide living needs. After 14 days of quarantine, as long as there are no violations, compensation can be requested, even foreigners who enter the country can apply.
Because we don’t believe China and WHO(CHO)
In addition to all said in this nice comparison, there is one fact which is emerging now. There have been many instances in which hospitalised people in Italy just after being able to breath again on their own, they were send to care homes, possibly causing the widespread infections in these other places. That was a mistake not even my small daughter would have done!
On top of this, while I admit that Taiwan was more prepared because of the experience they had with SARS, the Antonine Plagues alone in Ancient Rome caused around 5 million deads and had been widely covered by writers of the time, including the Emperor philosopher Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (from whom the plague took its name). Indeed many Italians misbehaved, however in a farm it is down to the male chicken to keep the female chickens under check.
I'm from Taiwan, we had it under control most likely is because we don't trust China. lol
Government around the world are just letting their people die because they still want do business with China, or maybe because they listen to W.H.O.
bunch of idiots building China. Part of me think the world deserve it, I hope they all die.
If not, I'm sure the next virus will.
Hindu religion, the jains been wearing mask since 500 B,C and been using the yoga salutations ?for years????????
Taiwan is not China. TW finally keeps the situation turning well(0 new case continued). Taiwan can help and Taiwan is helping. Plz support TW to join the world. Democracy TW can avoid China lying.
the Answer and winner is who much more hater China
The truth is is really a political fluke the party that got elected president ran on a platform of anti-chinese sentiment along with the Hong Kong protest. In turn China retaliated by limiting the amount of tourist coming into Taiwan so Taiwan actually have about 1/12 of tourists coming to Taiwan compared to Korea and Japan in January. I don't know the number but Italy is one of the most popular attractions no just Chinese tourist but all tourist. Therefore the situation is not really comparable if you have initially 10 20 times tourist that carries the disease coming into your country the numbers of covid-19 patients you discovered at the time of the first case would actually be extremely different. You do have to give some credit to to taiwanese eople for wearing masks and treating this more severely than other countries. However if Coronavirus started in Japan which is a very friendly country to Taiwan i imagined it to be very very different. I say this because the Taiwanese people aren't really social distancing the ktvs clubs bars are still open the people are rubbing shoulders on the subway schools are still open people are playing basketball in the park while coughing unto each other. just the other day about 40000 people gathered in one place during a long holiday. People Are People don't think that one country is better than the other most of the time it's just luck. I feared this attitude of patting ourselves on the back in Taiwan could make it ill-prepared for future outbreaks so stop praising Taiwan that much.
Pray your countr??
87% of deaths in Italy are elderly citizens over 60….rip.They have the second largest elderly population next to Japan.
