It's not fake news it's a fake and corrupt administration "A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government" "Edward Abbey" .

The case against Kate Smith and others and God Bless America…As far as I know, Miss Smith has never been a holder of slaves, but, never the less was a cultural product of the times in which she lived…shall we now start renaming some of our towns and cities ruining the purpose of political correction, then running it into the ground with present day prudence?

The market has spoken. The masses do not agree with or empathize with the NYDNs extreme leftist bias and bashing of the president. The paper was already dead the parent company is simply trying to salvage the scraps because they know it’s a dead end. They’ve destroyed their credibility and the media is far too competitive of a market to be able to come back from that. It’s crazy that all these lefty folks are so cavalier and cocky about spreading lies because they’re so narcissistically convinced that the ends they falsely believe are best justifies the means, when at all times they are inches away from being squeezed out of the market. Lies buried you.

People DONT WANT THE PAPER Michael. Blame trump, blame the parent corporation, blame all you want but it’s all a manifestation of the grave that entities like the NYDN have dug themselves. Blame yourselves. But it’s never their fault because their right and everyone else is either wrong or just naively uniformed, brainwashed or confused. That’s what narcissists think. They warp reality to bend to their misguided world view. They’re in fairy land.

The New York Daily eventually became a filthy fake news communist far left trash paper. They are Anti-Cop. Anti-Trump. Good riddance.
It was once a decent paper up until around 2009.
They changed from a working class paper to hiring a bunch of idiotic radical far left activism pin heads. The newspaper chased away its loyal readers after it became what it became. The newspaper is down to between 100k-150k subscribers at best. That in itself is a joke to compete in NYC. .If Michael Kay didnt see this coming, he's fooling himself. He's also fooling himself by saying these writers were making 70k a year. They were making far more.
Michael Kay says he will cancel his online subscription. Big deal lol it's only 99 cents to get a 3 month online subscription.
It's a garbage newspaper. You don't see the New York Post having this problem. They are not perfect but they are more objective.

Mort Zuckerman sold the paper for 1 dollar. That's because he couldn't get more than that. He ran it into the ground with his left wing agenda. This paper is as left wing as it gets. It's CNN in print. Due to their bias and extreme left politics, they lost subscribers. Then they lost advertisers, which means they lost money. When a business loses money it's over. People are not stupid, they can tell when the news is biased or fake. But what really killed them was their digital version. Their headline and editorials were outrageous. They did this on purpose to get clicks to show advertisers they had an audience. It failed. Their audience dribbled away. The Washington Post does the same thing. The only reason they are still in business is because Jeff Bezo's money and the NYT is co-owned by a Mexican billionaire, otherwise they'd be gone as well. Nowadays with the internet you can get the news from all different views and it's killing the left stream media.

The Food Network NOW has better ratings than CNN. Why? Hard working legal American constitutionals are reestablishing law and order in America. Any America based media partisanship that critique American 'WINS' we will SHUT DOWN. Days of CNN racist dog and pony posturing hate talks are now labeling you the racists. Your lights are being shut down CNN. But OK now, clearly draining these politicial sewage swamps has only unveil more corupt shit offerings than jail lock ups. Sure could use a little CNN motivation. So here it is you ungrateful jack wagons: could you escalate those "CNN breaking news" America hatred rants? If I may suggest…Feature the hardships out of jail MS-13 legal American with uncles, cousins and the kids to further bring home the gravity of America's racist profiling streets. A CNN Democratic Socialist Party viewership base capitalizing no-brainer.

A puerile, infantile rant. Don’t know why I expected better from Kay but I did. The Daily News failed because it lost touch with the people they were supposed to be serving – the working and middle classes of the metro area. But the leadership of the paper couldn’t help but look down their noses at them every chance they got. They Daily News hasn’t been worth reading in 25-30 years. Good riddance.

My grandfather worked for the Daily News for 55 years and growing up reading The Daily News even living in Vermont we got it every single day and it was a wonderful paper back then but it is turned into a total political hack job rag and is not worth fishwrap. I like Michael Kay and I think he does a wonderful job but on this I totally disagree with him the paper got what it deserves when it starts printing fake stories about the president and constantly Badgers him and his family without letter then they deserve what they get. I believe in a free press but I also believe a free press has the responsibility to print the truth and not make up lies or follow an agenda we're left-wing nutjobs set the pace of lies and make believe. I think any new source that is not credible and makes up their stories instead of reporting the truth should be out of business they have no business brainwashing people with fake news. Daily news got what they had coming. You went broke and now you're having a fire sale. Way to go fake News New York Daily News.

I respect Kay and agree with the majority of his comments but he is very wrong about this. Blaming the president for the downfall of a newspaper that chronically uses "click bait" style headlines is not the fault of one individual in Washington. This newspaper has willingly used dirty tactics to scrape up any notoriety for a while and its about time it came to a head. It's a true shame talented writers lost their jobs but like any talented individual, they will be needed elsewhere. I have a laundry list of media outlets that i disagree with but none like the Daily News. Democracy is not dieng, rather it has spoken.

I work for a daily newspaper in a major city owned by a conglomerate (not Tronc, but another big one..) and I agree one hundred percent with what Michael is saying. I've survived rounds of layoffs, watched my paper get gutted more than once and have seen perfectly competent workers (who are also great people) lose their jobs while the corporate people keep theirs and make more money year after year.

It's sad. It's frustrating. And it drives me as nuts as it drove him, in this video. The fact that the Daily News, which, like Michael said is indeed an institution in NYC, will be covering the Yankees via wire services is just mind-boggling. Over my near-decade in the newspaper business, I've learned that good, in-depth competent reporting is hard to come by. You can't just throw anyone into the job, whether it be the beat in sports, entertainment, food, government, schools, crime — whatever it may be — and just assume they can do it. It's difficult and grueling work that requires meticulous attention to detail. I wish more people would realize that.

And as far as what he said about journalists being painted as the bad guys by the president? Don't even get me started. I've taken so many phone calls in my office from angry readers who don't agree with our coverage, calling what me and my colleagues do "fake news." It's the most irritating and preposterous complaint in the world. You cannot defend how the president has made journalists out to be the bad guys, and that's coming from me — someone from a Republican background. There's no defending it. It's just wrong, plain and simple.

Bravo and thank you, Mr. Kay. You hit the nail right on the head.
