First Look Campaign Gameplay of Total War Saga: Troy – Playing as Paris, Prince of Troy! Thanks to CA for the Early Access so that I could make this video!
For sure gonna play as Hector, the most Bad Ass Character in the epic. THINK ABOUT IT, this dude goes out and fights Achilles A PRACTICALLY INVULNERABLE MAN and nearly kills him! Also Hector sued for peace not war and is the true hero of the whole story, end rant. EDIT: Perhaps Ajax is the most bad ass militarily speaking, but he does kill Achilles his own cousin.
When you consider the timeframe, sieges weren't that crazy. Also the war was fought for 10 years before the Trojans were defeated so overall I would say the siege was not very successful. Evidence suggests it was a earthquake that brought down the walls not the greeks. Earthquakes are in the domain of Poseidon who's symbol happens to be a horse.
When will CA quit making these game and, make the game to end all CA games . Empire 2 Total War. 11 years since empire, come on Sega give them some money make it.
Why you gotta play as the shitty side. You play as a dude that stole a girl and risked his whole country for love? Nah fuck that shit I wanna play as Achilles and kill them
kinda irks me how much Paris looks like Bloom. I mean, I didn't think he was necessarily bad for the role in the movie, but just seems too easy/typical.
The battle maps actually look like they may be the best maps out of all the modern TW games, love the tactical advantages you can gain from the grass, the mud and cliffs.
In the bronze age the battles were more spread out and skirmish-like. They didn't hold tight formations nearly as much as they did later on in the classical age. I think the blend of mixing together as well as holding a slight front line is pretty good considering the time period. Lack of matched combat is a shame though.
I feel like the charging units are fine as is. Sure they tend to "blend in" but isn't that how it works ? If anything, it adds more to the "immersion" as not every soldier you command will have the same drive to get into the fight. To me, it actually feels kinda worse that range units still try to fill in the first ranks when a dude dies like we're fighting in the line battles era: * dude dies * * half the third rank starts to sidestep to fill in one spot *
Also doesn't make much sense to have a full-on fog of war to the point that you can't see the cities. Paris crossed the sea and actually went there to get Helen, surely he knows where the cities are. There should be some kind of city displayed on the fog of war if anything.
I'm of a mixed opinion about this. I mean, on one hand I see your point from a gameplay perspective, but it's also set centuries before the Greek Phalanx and classical infantry tactics. Maybe they wanted to present more of a swirling melee than a unified shieldwall.
Hope you enjoy this Campaign Preview of the Paris Campaign from Total War SAGA: Troy!
Paris be simpin for a clown lmao
Reminds me of Vlad & Isabella lol
HECTORRRRRRRRR HECTORRRRRRRRR HECTORRRRRRRRR
The graphical artwork is splendid.
Did they seriously make Paris look like Orlando Bloom? Or did they seriously miss it did? Damn
i need to know how to do the ultra unit sizes
Only if they had naval battles…
Does anyone else kinda dislike the map?
umm which ever side has Achilles.. of course.. is the side I'm playing
can't wait to conquer Troy!
I think the mixing in charge is very realistic and I really really like that
The battles look awful! The campaign map looks quite nice though.

this game became more and more simplified, the next one will be released for phones
First mod I want to see is changing Achilles model to brad Pitt

This is why a remaster or Medieval and Empire would suck, this franchise has basically turned into Civ with all these mechanics
When is this game going to be available?
zoom in more often so we can see the units and the action
CA has gotten so lazy for so many titles now they dont have a range bonus for high ground its pathetic
Is Sean Bean in it?
Forget campaign and battles, I'm playing this one for the plot ?

Such a clingy girl lmao

sloppy charge
Lionheartx10 it is not the Odyssey but the Iliad. Odyssey happens after the Iliad when Odysseus tries to get back to Ithaca. ??
Paris – actually named Alexander – was foretold to bring the doom to Troy, as he did. Sometimes you've got to kill them young ;p

Hector because he's the single coolest character in the Illiad.
How disappointed… Total War literally looks like an arcade game now

Whens this available on steam?
oh look another shitty re skin of Attila!!!! fuck off CA

the game looks way more cartoonish than Warhammer 2
I never knew that Helen was a clown.
