American healthcare system is ridicilous, but this video is ehhh…. misleading. People don't always pay 2500$ from their pocket for calling ambulance. It depends on your insurance

I’m a First Nations person. And we have dedicated free health care. But it’s only at certain hospitals. And most health care professionals that work there are usually fresh out of college. Or just about to end their doctoring profession. So if you need to have serious surgery than it’s best to go to a hospital with better doctors and surgeons.

The British healthcare is socialized. They have the ability to do this because they basically put very little money into their military because WE PROTECT THE MAJORITY OF THE PLANET. GOD BLESS THE USA. ALSO FORGIVE THE NAIVE PEOPLE BEING INTERVIEWED.

I hate living in the US. Every day I'm shocked at how they tax and charge you for merely existing. They make it almost impossible for you to survive and the rich get richer. You can work 3 jobs here and still not make ends meet. God forbid you need to go to the hospital. You'll already be paying thousands, before you even get there.

British Writer Pens The Best Description Of Trump I’ve Read

      March 8, 2019 ~ Michael Stevenson

Someone on Quora asked “Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response:

A few things spring to mind.

Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem.

For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed.

So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.

      Plus, we like a laugh.

And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever.

I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever.

And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman.

But with Trump, it’s a fact.

He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.

Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers.

And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them.

His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.

There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth.

      It’s all surface.

Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront.

      Well, we don’t.

We see it as having no inner world, no soul.

And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath.

All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist.

Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog.

He is the exact opposite of that.

      He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat.

He’s more a fat white slug.

A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.

And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully.

That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead.

There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all.

He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt.

He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down.

So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:

      • Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are.

      • You don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.

This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss.

After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss.

He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit.

His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum.

God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too.

But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid.

He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart.

In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.

And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumps of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created?

If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.

The USA is NOT a democracy . . . . it's a corporatocracy! Money is their religion. Strangely many of the poorest are Republican voters who don't have a clue that statistically, under a Republican administration poverty increases and under a Democratic administration it decreases.
The growth of the economy doesn't differentiate between either party because growth and decline is dictated by a 'Global Economic Super Cycle' (ten year cycle give or take). Yes, if you're poor you die and unfortunately a lot are dying now because of Covid-19, with little public healthcare available to the poor.

Approx 20% of income tax in the uk goes towards healthcare, so for the tax payers (who have to pay for everyone else's healthcare also), it's not technically "free". Still, it's light years ahead of the US system.

I recently had to go to the hospital to get stitches for a cut on my knee. 6 stitches cost $200. I had a smaller cut on my arm. It was too small for stitches but wide enough they used what’s called a steri strip. It is basically just a bandaid, cost $185

Funny isnt it? Americans pay more tax than we do on healthcare, yet ours is free and they get billed tens of thousands of dollars for the same privilege. No wonder the US is like some dirty backwater. A first world country? HA! Your gun crime rates are terrible in comparison to other countries that allow firearms. Scores of homeless people and the government doesnt help? (In the UK its actually illegal to be homeless and has been since 1824)
Infact, your government could halve its military spending, pay off its debt within 10yrs and THEN use that money to give you free healthcare without an increase in taxes………. Why is your military budget so high? The UK's budget is mere millions and our research and forces are just as good (if not better) than yours.
Cant any of you see that?

We actually do have a generous welfare program for the poor (under $25k w/1 child but benefits increase the bigger the family) in the US. It includes free medical, a debit card for free groceries and restaurants in some states, cash, cell phone, rent (often in really nice apartments). We also have state clinics and hospitals. People always either fail to mention it or they just don’t realize. It’s the middle class that struggles. You make too much money for state healthcare and can’t afford to buy insurance. Most companies do provide insurance but if you’re a self employed plumber…??‍♀️ But really there’s no such thing as “free” healthcare. Everyone’s paying for it with taxes or other government mandated fees.
