Police: West Palm woman stole, pawned jewelry, TV from mom

A West Palm Beach woman is in the Palm Beach County Jail after she allegedly stole and pawned jewelry from her mother’s home, according to a police report.

Sikia Lavesha Brown, 25, is facing charges of burglary, grand theft between $300 and $5,000, dealing in stolen property and fraud for using a false ID. Brown is being held in lieu of $6,000 bail.

During an interview with West Palm Beach police, Brown denied any involvement in the July 11 burglary. Brown told police on the night of the crime, she “checked” on her mother’s house. When she got back to her car, Brown said her cousin was waiting for her with stolen property he said an unknown person sold him while she was out of sight, the report said.

Police checked pawn records and found that Brown had sold the items stolen from her mother’s house to a Lake Worth pawn dealer three hours after the robbery, the report said.

About 15 minutes into her interview with police, Brown confessed to burglarizing her mother’s house, the report said.
