A Palm Beach Gardens woman invited to dinner Saturday repaid her host by allegedly stealing several pain medication patches, according to a police report.

Marcy Pappalardo then went to her home and allegedly assaulted her mother, according to Palm Beach Gardens police.

Pappalardo, 42, faces charges of theft, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, domestic battery by strangulation, battery of a person 65 years or older and obstructing justice. She is being held in lieu of $12,000 bail.

After having dinner at a friend’s house, Pappalardo left with the host’s daughter to drop off a friend at his house. Pappalardo then went to a bar and began drinking. The host’s daughter called her mother to say that Pappalardo was drinking, the report said.

Because the dinner host was “familiar with Marcy’s history of alcohol abuse,” she called Pappalardo’s mother, the report said.

That infuriated Pappalardo, who returned to the host’s home and began yelling, the report said. During the commotion, Pappalardo allegedly stole several Fentanyl 50mg patches from the host’s bedroom.

When police went to Pappalardo’s home to speak with her, they were welcomed by the woman’s mother who stated: “Are you here to arrest her for what she did to me?”

Officers observed a bruise on the woman’s shoulder around 4 to 5 inches in width, the report said. The woman said that Pappalardo punched, choked and threw her to the ground.

After she was arrested, Pappalardo requested that she be allowed to change from her pajamas to regular clothing, the report said. It was at this time that the officer noticed three patches on Pappalardo’s stomach.

“Oh, I didn’t know,” Pappalardo responded when asked about the patches
