Alleged Boynton Beach thief arrested after returning to scene of crime

Ryan Edward Pinto and an unidentified woman were captured on surveillance video at a Best Buy in Boynton Beach allegedly stealing a pair of GPS watches, according to a police report.

But Pinto, 24, wasn’t satisfied. Two hours after the alleged theft Thursday, Pinto returned to the store at 550 North Congress Avenue. This time, Boynton Beach Police said, Pinto stuck a game capture device in his pants while he was being observed by a loss prevention officer.

When police arrived, Pinto was in the store’s bathroom with the game capture device valued at $159.99 stuck inside his underwear, the report said.

Pinto, of Lake Worth, admitted to police he had been in the store earlier in the day with a female he knows only as “Tiffany.” Pinto said he and the woman removed two watches from their packages and placed them in the woman’s purse, the report said. The watches have a value of $249.99 each.

Pinto also admitted to stealing the game capture device, the report said, and is facing charges of retail theft of more than $300 in coordination with others, petit theft and fraud. He is being held in the Palm Beach County jail in lieu of $6,000 bond.
